The spring training of cross-country skiers is characterised by skiing trips, using the last rests of snow and with the relaxed mood during training and this was typical for all weekend in Austria. In addition, the weather was more than spring, so the mood was great.
The second meeting took place in Mürzzuschlag in Austria 6-8 April 2018. The first night was the village's exploration with a map in hand (= orienteering running). The athletes were drawn into German-Slavic couples. The sweet treats were prepared for everyone in the finish point.
Roller skiing trip along the Mürz river was planned for Saturday. The trip has four variants; from the easiest around the Mürzzuschlag to the marathon combined with the travelling by train to the starting point. The variants of trips could be made shorter if necessary, so the athletes could make their decision about the distance of the trip. The trips lead along the cycling roads almost without people and on the local road, where we met just one car. After lunch, coaches absolved psychology interactive workshop while the athletes relaxed in the swimming pool and sauna and in the middle of the afternoon (after 2 hours) the roles were changed; athletes were presented on the psychology session and the coaches relaxed. Psychology workshop was very interesting and nobody was bored during all 2 hours.
The program of the last day - Sunday - was a big question mark because everything was dependent on the weather condition. To the end the weather was great and the program could continue in according to the plan - "adventure skiing" in the Raxalpen Resort. For the better feelings from the freeskiing without tracks, it would be necessary more freezing during the night but it was the amazing new experience for everybody of the skiing in the free terrain. A lot of athletes discovered that skiing is not only on the had and perfectly prepared track and that they need more skills on the skies. Everybody felt into the soft snow often but the sunbathing and great views were more satisfacting.
They all enjoyed the meeting and can not wait to see Dresden-Niedersedlitz Skiklub in Dresden at the end of summer holidays. For November, a meeting is scheduled for Skalka in Slovakia, which will be held by MKL Kremnice.
